How can I reset a user's password?

You must disable the user immediately!  If you do not, the user will still be able to access all sites assigned to them.  To do so please review the Disabling Users topic.

Why does UAM recommend that the User ID of a user's profile should not exceed 12 characters?

This is recommended for two reasons:

 

A user has suddenly lost access to all sites.  Why did this happen?

Users will lose access to all sites when their User Level is changed.  Each time the user level is changed a warning appears:

 

 

After you click OK, you must reassign all site attributes and roles.  If you click OK and do not reassign all of the site attributes and roles, the user will not have access to any sites.

 

To resolve this problem, reassign all site attributes and roles in the user's profile.
